5 Free and Easy Gift Ideas for Father’s Day

Tomorrow is Father’s Day! If you’ve been too busy and/or too broke lately and are now facing the dilemma of not knowing how to show your appreciation and love for your dad, we’ve got you covered. After all, Father’s Day is about celebrating your dad, not the gift shops.

So, here are 5 super easy, and free gift ideas.

1. “We Love Dad” Photo Idea

One of my favourite ideas comes from Crafty Gator.

You’ll need:

  • 1 big sheet of paper (or two small sheets taped together)
  • 1 ribbon
  • Tape
  • Your photo camera
  • Sun light (or any other light source)

If you need a cute frame for the picture and you happen to live in Dunedin, you may want to check with the seller of the Teddy Photo Frame to see if it’s still available.

3. Voucher Jar

You’ll need

  • 1 jar
  • Small sheets of paper

Write little vouchers that your dad can then “use” throughout the year. This gift will provide joy beyond Father’s Day.

Ideas for vouchers:

  • cleaning the dishes
  • walking the dog
  • cleaning out the cat’s litter
  • granting dad 1 hour nap time
  • mowing the lawn
  • taking out the trash
  • washing the car
  • helping with painting the fence
  • cooking dad’s favourite meal
  • silence during favourite TV show
  • helping with fixing the car
  • hug

4. Breakfast in Bed

If your dad is a breakfast person or needs his morning coffee right after getting up, he might appreciate getting his breakfast or coffee in bed for one day. Just make sure you’re not jolting him out of sleep to serve breakfast. … and be sure to knock on the door before you enter!

5. Video

If all that sounds like too much effort and/or too time consuming, there are photo and video editing softwares that generate wonderful and creative video clips for you within just 5 minutes. One of them is Stupeflix. Choose one of the free options, drag and drop your photos and short videos into the program and it will create an awesome, creative video for you. Now you only need to choose some music to play in the background, safe the video and send it to your dad.

Happy Father’s Day!
